Our Programs

Programs & Projects

World Dignity, Inc. (WDI) develops programs with the people who will be affected by such programs, building on their knowledge and wisdom. WDI joins with people whose goal it is to create a better life for themselves, their families, and their communities. We require contributions and participation by those who benefit from WDI programs and activities.

Projects

WDI programming and support is currently focused in Thailand, India, and Bangladesh, primarily in education. The programs and activities are managed by volunteers.

In Thailand, WDI emphsizes Dignity College Scholarships, summer science and English programs, Work and Study;Phi Sohn Nong – Students Tutoring Students; Teacher of English as a Second Language (TEFL) sponsorships. Past projects / support include: Anti-smoking project; Angthong Province Emergency Flood Assistance to Schools; Environmental Cooperative Project; and Computers for Kids (One Laptop Per Child) .

WDI partners with the Auroville community in South India to support village development and to operate a Dignity Scholarship program through an Education Revolving Fund for financially poor university students.

A new Dignity Scholarship project has been initiated in Dhaka, Bangladesh in cooperation with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Province (Congregation of Holy Cross) 

WDI has supported programs in South Bend, Indiana, recently spinning off to a larger organization its Read Baby Read program for pre-kindergarten students and their parents / guardians. Other past activities include a Smart Kids project, partially funding a workshop for teachers in Xieng Khouang Province, Laos and providing emergency funds to an elementary school in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to repair damage done by Hurricane Katrina.
